Crown #8 & #9

A Simple Crown Seating Method for Anterior Teeth Using ContacEZ Diamond Dental Strip

By Dr. Daniel S. Kim, DDS

ContacEZ Diamond Dental Strip is an innovative new precision dental device designed to use prior to final cementation to achieve proper proximal contact adjustment of indirect restorations. Use of ContacEZ Diamond Dental Strip restores Interproximal Relief by eliminating excessive pressure between the indirect restoration and the adjacent teeth, and complete marginal seating is achieved simply and easily!

Figure 2

Figure 2. The crown for tooth #8 was placed on prepared tooth #8. A ContacEZ Diamond Dental Strip was inserted into the distal interproximal space of tooth #8 with the abrasive side facing the crown. The ContacEZ Diamond Dental Strip was passed through faciolingually several times between proximal contacts until light resistance was achieved.

Figure 3

Figure 3. Crown #8 was removed from prepared tooth #8 and crown #9 was placed on prepared tooth #9. The ContacEZ Diamond Dental Strip was inserted into the distal interproximal space of tooth #9 with the abrasive side facing the crown. The ContacEZ Diamond Dental Strip was passed through faciolingually several times between the proximal contacts until light resistance was achieved.

Figure 4

Figure 4. With the crown #9 still in place, crown #8 was placed on the prepared tooth #8. The ContacEZ Diamond Dental Strip was inserted between crowns #8 & 9 with the abrasive side towards crown #9 and passed through faciolingually 3 to 4 times.

Figure 5

Figure 5. ContacEZ Diamond Dental Strip was removed from the interproximal space between crowns #8 and 9, and flipped over so that the abrasive side towards crown #8. The ContacEZ Diamond Dental Strip was again inserted into the interproximal space. The ContacEZ Diamond Dental Strip was passed through between proximal contacts faciolingually 3 to 4 times.
